I’m disabled and cannot do everything that my wonderful active cats need so they come and help with food and medicine and playing and generally just making this a happy house again.
Leslie first, and my blind cat took an immediate liking to her. She picked up on all of their personalities and very responsibly. made a health check sheet for me so I wouldn’t lose track of their medication’s and things like that. I interviewed one more person but she just didn’t fit and that was no problem with her or dogs on the run so nice when people are professional. Needing someone to cover when Leslie could not come I was sent Gail who is just as wonderful knowledgeable about Cats. Willing to listen and learn about what my babies need. I went from having nobody to look after them if I ended up in the hospital or had to go away to having two amazing people who communicate and when one can’t make it, the other picks up the slack. I didn’t think there were any good personal small businesses where the employees took pride and what they did anymore, but I’m wrong. DOTR is that and more give them a text or a call if you need someone to help with your pets. Please pardon misspellings or strange grammar as I cannot type tonight my hands shake too badly. DOTR works with Pet Care Professionals as independent service providers rather than employees. Independent Pet Care Professionals operate their own businesses and maintain control over their rates, availability, service area, and which opportunities they choose to accept, subject to the terms of their agreement with DOTR.

DOTR independent Pet Care Professionals are required to be 18 years old, have a business license, liability insurance, and a background check. We also require at least one year of pet care experience, two professional pet care references, and your own reliable car for daily use.

No, you set your own rates based on the services you offer, your experience, and your market.

Your income will depend on your rates, availability, location, and the amount of work you choose to accept. As an independent contractor, you have the flexibility to build your business at a pace that works for you.
